Artists Statement
I make images to remember who I am.
My art is an exploration of the subtle senses, the senses of the unseen and the unheard. Amazed by an immense universe of mysterious and divine forces, I am confused and bewildered by a polarity of strong, negative energies.
In attempting to comprehend this conflict, I create a field of repeated forms using metaphors of geometric and contoured shapes that float or loom in a metaphysical space. I approach the substrate as an act of faith: I layer, remove and rebuild, creating an uneasy dialogue and response. Then, I watch.
In the quiet, conflict and alienation transcend to a unified, rhythmic dance.
